BERNARD
K. KARIAN, D.D.S., M.S.D. Dr. Karian received his D.D.S. degree in 1963 from the University of Pennsylvania. He completed a year of anesthesia residency at the Graduate School of Dentistry at the University of Pittsburgh and following his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency, received a graduate M.S.D. degree from the University of the Pacific. He was chief of the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Department at University Medical Center and in charge of residency training. He has been in private practice of oral & maxillofacial surgery since 1967.

HOWELL
E. WIGGINS JR., D.M.D. Dr. Wiggins graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelors degree in 1964. He received his D.M.D. degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1969. Following two years of general practice in the United States Navy Dental Corp, he completed his oral & maxillofacial surgery residency in 1974. Dr. Wiggins has remained active in private practice and currently serves on the Anesthesia Evaluation Committee for the California State Board of Dental Examiners.

GERALD ALEXANDER D.D.S.Dr. Alexander obtained his B.S. degree in Pharmacy at the University of Austin Texas in 1967. Dr. Alexander received his D.D.S. degree from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1971. Next, he then began a residency in oral & maxillofacial surgery at Valley Medical Center Fresno in 1973, which he completed in 1976.
While currently in private practice, he also holds a faculty position at the University Medical Center Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program. Dr. Alexander currently serves as an examiner for the Anesthesia Evaluation Committee for the California State Board of Dental Examiners. . |

Meet the newest member of the Fresno Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Team. Dr. Ardavan Kheradpir, "Ardy" and to patients as Dr. Pir (pronounced Peer), comes to Fresno Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery after living and studying in many parts of the world. After receiving his D.M.D from the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Kheradpir completed an internship at the University of Southern California before coming to University Medical Center to complete his four-year oral and maxillofacial surgery residency. Making the decision to join FOMSG, Dr. Kheradpir says, "In any profession you are molded by those you work with. To be able to work with my mentor is a golden opportunity, and I strongly believe believe that Fresno Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery group is the place where I can best apply my training to the full scope within the specialty." In addition to his impressive academic and professional training, Dr. Kheradpir brings a unique ethnic background to the group - a valuable asset in the cultural mosaic of our community. He is of Filipino/Persian descent, was raised in North Africa, attended high schools in England and Canada and did his undergraduate work in Ottawa, Canada before settling in the United States. The staff at FOMSG welcomes this well-rounded athlete, musician and outstanding surgeon to the practice and we know that you and your patients will benefit from his gentle nature, engaging personality and exceptional skill and knowledge in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery.
